Cotton Candy Ice Cream

Blue ice cream scoops and soft serve on a waffle, garnished on a plate.

Not much history here. My daughter came up with this idea when she was about 8 yrs. old. I have a added the option of Golden Oreos crumbled in there. We always add this. Kids and grown ups love it when we make it. Enjoy!

Cotton Candy Ice Cream

My daughter came up with this idea when she was about 8 yrs. old. I have a added the option of Golden Oreos crumbled in there. We always add this. Kids and grown ups love it when we make it. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups half-and-half cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3-4 drops blue food dye
  • 2 teaspoons cotton candy flavoring

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together until the sugar is fully dissolved. Pour the mixture into the ice cream maker, filling it no more than two-thirds full, and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions. Keep any remaining mixture refrigerated until you're ready to freeze it. Serve immediately or transfer the ice cream to freezer-safe containers, leaving space for expansion. Freeze overnight.
  2. Optional: (I always do this!) Crumble 1.5 cup Golden Oreos in ice cream after coming out of ice cream maker. Push to distribute with a spatula.
